Why is hemp seed oil good for dogs and cats?

Hemp seed oil is rich in two essential fatty acids: Linolenic acid (Omega-3) and Linoleic acid (Omega-6). Being polyunsaturated fats, these are not produced naturally by your pet’s body (or even ours!) and is best to be included in their diet.

Our Hemp Seed Oil for Pets is cold pressed straight from the hemp seed. It has no added fillers or artificial preservatives, making it a healthy omega oil feed supplement for dogs and cats.

How to use

How to give hemp seed oil to dogs and cats

Hemp seed oil can be taken daily, as part of a healthy, balanced diet. We suggest starting with a small amount of hemp seed oil added to your pets feed, then build up over time. Note: It is not recommended to cook or heat oil as it may turn rancid.

Check the chart below for suggested feeding amounts, or as directed by a veterinarian. Can be used in combination with all Fortunate Paws products. This is a guide only and amounts may vary according to your pets size, age and activity levels. We suggest feeding 0.5ml per 100g of feed.

Pet size - Volume (ml)

Very Small (<5 kg) - 0.5 ml

Small (5 kg-10 kg) - 0.5 ml - 1.0 ml

Medium (10 kg – 25 kg) - 1.0 ml - 2.5 ml

Large (25 kg – 50 kg) - 2.5 ml – 5.0 ml

Very Large (>50 kg) - 6.0ml

Hemp seed oil

Pixie certainly has improved in her mobility and energy. She was suffering stiffness in her shoulders and was in pain. She can run and jump around quite freely now. She is nearly 10 years old now.

Excellent product and my dog loves it

The hemp seed oil has really helped our anxious cat. Her coat and nails are much healthier too.
We also use it for a very old dog riddled with arthritis and it has completely changed him! He is moving better and is so much happier.

So far so good.

I have 18 old cat with Hypertension and severe arthritis and Anxiety. So far it does seem to help with the Anxiety and a little bit with the Arthritis, hard to tell due to pain meds. But her fur is Glossy and soft again, and she seeks alot more attention now (cries for it actually as she is blind due to haemorrhages in eyes from Hypertension). Will continue to see how she goes, but so far so good.

The scent is amazing!

I had used the same shampoo and conditioner for years. I was already getting the hemp and calm oils and had just run out of their usual bath products so I thought I would give it a go and I am so glad I did. I love the shampoo and conditioner so much. Do yourself a favour and also get the detangling spray. It is awesome for my border collies.

Simply Seaweed

My dogs love this on their food and they have the whitest teeth. I feel it is giving them quite a lot of nutrients and helps with loosening plaque on their teeth.

Works Well

Seems to do the job, my dogs are happier in general, certainly a lot more mellow - though be aware it makes them sleep a bit more. Currently have one dog taking a green lipped muscle supplement, which is quite expensive and have been able to cut that back by using the Hemp Oil

Old dogs.

My colliex sisters are almost 15 and I give them hemp oil on their food twice a day. One has back legs that are so weak n wobbly but neither seem to be in pain as they still want a walk/trot twice a day. Perhaps it's the oil. They've been on it for years now.
